Yossy Akinsanya is a Photographer and Writer based in England and working everywhere.

Daughter of Nigerian immigrants, my interest in storytelling through imagery was inspired by their journey from Nigeria to London at a young age. The help of my older and supportive sister, quickly led to commissions from friends and before I graduated from the University of Essex I was already steadily building a name for myself in the UK’s vibrant creative community.

Upon graduating with a 2:1 psychology degree, my love for photography had overtaken my original plan of becoming a clinical psychologist. Whilst working full-time in marketing, freelancing in photography has allowed me to build on my experience in storytelling through aesthetically driven visuals.

I’ve been honored to work with amazing and reputable people and companies such as Refinery 29, Gal-dem, and Pinterest. I’m always excited when projects allow me to meet new people, travel to new places, and share stories of my experiences.
